Trip to Mohnbukta

What else to do on a perfectly fine Tuesday afternoon when the weather is still great (again, we did probably not have one bad day since before easter...) than grab your scooter and some friends and go for a ride?? I mean you never know when it suddenly changes for the worse or the snow starts melting?! So today it was about time to go to the east coast - Mohnbukta. Vegard, Elle and I went via Eskerfossen, Tempelfjorden, Van Postbreen to Mohnbukta and back via Sassendalen.

The iron beds in Adventdalen. Not tempted...

Vegard and Ellen. Ellen had to wear a gas mask since it turned out that her incredibly loud sneezing (I could even hear it WHILE driving...) was a two stroke related allergic reaction... As bad as it looked the mask fortunately solved the problem :-)

Eskerfossen

Eskerfossen. One of the nearby places to go ice climbing :-)

In Tempelfjorden Vegard tried fasten one of the skrews on my head that obvioulsy is a bit loose... However, despite of his good attempt it didn't last long... ;-)

Van Post breen at the east cost. HUGE!

Small coffe break

Driving along the glacier scarp on sea ice

Even though we were at the east coast and did drive a bit on the sea ice we didn't see a single bear :-( So we decided to just go back home as it was getting late. If I recall right we didn't start until somewhen in the afternoon and had about 200km to drive ;-)

On our way back towards Sassendalen
